Using clearcase connector to integrate UCM VOB to Jazz

YU WANG (621) | asked Apr 14 '09, 10:51 p.m.
When I use the clearcase connector to integrate UCM VOB to RTC, the files and folders which I can see in the RTC stream is only a part of what I can see in the clearcase explore.

I can integrate a VOB to RTC, but when in the situation of PVOB, I can't integrate it to RTC correctly. What should I do now?

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "in the situation of PVOB".

But in general, the only files that are sync'ed over are the ones in the
trees you specified when you performed the "select files to synchronize"
operation. You can add new trees by just re-invoking that operation on
an existing sync stream.

So if there is some file or tree that you want to synchronize (that
isn't being synchronized), just add it (or one of its parents) using the
"select files to synchronize" operation.

I'm not sure I fully understand your question, but I'll take a guess.

It sounds like you're saying you figured out how to use the Connector to
bring over
ClearCase files and folders into RTC. But now you want to figure out how to
bring over
your UCM data (ie, data in the PVOB) into RTC?

You can't. That's not what the Connector is for. Once your CC data is in
RTC, then
you use the RTC SCM system.

Is this what you meant?

If it is, then what UCM data specifically did you want to bring over?

I have already added the files and folders I want to synchronize using the "select files to synchronize" operation, however, the synchronization result was only a part of the files and folders I have selected before. It happend when I synchronize a PVOB.

Hi Vicky,

Having files and folders in a PVOB are fine (that is a configuration we
test). Please submit a workitem containing the details of your
scenario, in particular, what are the synchronized roots of your sync
stream, and the pathnames of the files/folders that are not being
synchronized.

Cheers,
Geoff
