How do I handle this please : "Unexpected error in startup resynchronization" message when trying to install CLM-Web-Installer-Win-4.0.6

I need to install the latest version of RTC and a prerequisite seems to be IBM Installation Manager installation. After downloading CLM-Web-Installer-Win-4.0.6.zip from Jazz, extracting the zip file and running Install.exe (or launchpad.exe) I get the error message shown below (the expanded Details are also shown). I am running Windows 7.
Any suggestions please on how I can resolve this, as I urgently need to install RTC. Alternatively, is there another way to install RTC which bypasses Installation Manager.

If you just need RTC, you could use the

Jazz Team Server and the CCM Application, and Trial licenses for Rational Team Concert

in the Plain .zip Files sections of the all download page https://jazz.net/downloads/rational-team-concert/releases/4.0.6?p=allDownloads

Thanks for your suggestion Ralph. Unfortunately I do not think the Trial license would be suitable as we already have an internal license to use the product and I would need a permanently installed version

This is a full RTC/JTS only package including Tomcat. The trial license is also packaged with RTC, which is by the way always the case, no matter which install you choose. So that is what you want. You can upload the permanent licenses later or point to the license server, as you would with any other CLM install as well.

Theonlycaveat of this install is, that you can not easily install and deploy JTS and RTC on different servers, which you might want to do, if you are attempting an enterprise topology.

I downloaded an extracted the zip file that you recommended but I cannot see any obvious installation files. What I need to to is to install the Server and then the Client component of RTC on my machine.

There are no installation files. You extract it to a folder, e.g.JazzTeamServer. This is equivalent to installing to that folder using Installation Manager.

Then you go into the folder looking for the server folder, where you find the server. startup files and all the other files needed.

There is a similar download file for the Eclipse client as a zip file.

Alternative, try uninstalling Installation Manager, if you had it installed already and retry to use the web installer.

A third method available is downloading the installation manager repositories, from the same page, however, that requires Installation Manager as well.

Since you are new to this, please make yourself familiar with what installing entails and should be thought of before you actually do it. Especially the help https://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/clmhelp/v4r0m6/index.jsp and the Deployment Wiki https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Deployment/ especially https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Deployment/DeploymentPlanningAndDesign .
