Smart Card Login is not working in RTC Eclipse Client

We have full functionality in the web client using a custom authentication mechanism which is configured using TAI in WAS.
I can log into RTC using my smart card using the web client.
I am not able to get logged in to RTC using the RTC Eclipse Client with a Smart Card.
I have already made the modifications to the java.security file as suggested here:
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21633703
I have also verified that I have the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributible installed (both x86 and x64 versions).

System Information:
Load Balancer (running custom auth mechanism)
Application Server = WAS 8.5.5 on Windows Server 2008
-CLM 4.0.6

Workstation: Windows 7
-Using the RTC Eclipse 4.0.6 Client (Eclipse 4.2). This is the 64-bit version of the RTC Eclipse Client.

When I attempt to login, the window where you can select your certificate pops up again and again, but I never receive a prompt for my PIN. Eventually, the login fails with this message:

CRJAZ6022E Cannot log into the following server: 'Prod'.
CRJAZ0099E An HTTP error occurred when this URL was being accessed:

CRJAZ0099E An HTTP error occurred when this URL was being accessed:

Wow, this website is buggy, too! Keeps dropping the full message.

Received fatal alert: bad_certificate.
