Collections views missing in RRC project Template

Hi

The views we define on collections are not included in the process template. (this is views available "within collections").

We need these views and recreating the views on all new PA's will be very cumbersome for us.

Is the working as designed?, is there a work around?

Kristian, do you know how to submit a defect report?  I would suggest doing that.  This link should take you there: https://jazz.net/jazz03/web/projects/Requirements%20Management#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.newWorkItem.

Thanks, I will do so.

This has been reported by another client and a defect has just been created:

Project templates do not export Shared Views for Collections (87667)

I would consider this a defect, and suggest you open a work item.  When you create a project template that includes collections that have views, and/or includes collection templates that include views, and/or that includes "Shared Views", I would expect those views to be in the new project created from that project template.

I'm not aware of any workarounds.

HI Kirk

Yes, I expected that too. But I all my test it's not. I have tried all I can think of with collections, shared views, collection templates... etc.

But for none I get these views we need.

I agree this sounds like a defect because in the Money that Matters sample, which is an RRC project template, we have a module artifact template (Use Case Formal Module template) that contains various views (Headings only, Headings & Process, Content only etc.) which are created in a new module using that template.

Given that this works for modules in the sample I would expect something similar for collections in your project templates.

Hi Robin

Yes I would as well :). But I do not see it anywhere.

Yes I can see in the example RRC project template (in our installation its called JKE Banking but I assume its that same as MtM).

And I can se the Use Case Formal module template, including view for this and other modules.

But nothing for collections - no collection templates, no views on collection artifact.

I have now:

- Made a new PA (PA 1) from JKE Banking template.

- Added a view to PA 1

- Created a collection template in PA 1

- Created new collections and seen how my view is on all these

- Created a new Project template including all elements from PA 1

. Created PA 2 from this template

- and see how all JKE Banking thing comes along and the collection artifacts and the collection template I added is there in PA2

- but no collection view...
