Merge code between 2 RTC servers

Rao Shines (15945162) | asked Apr 15 '14, 5:39 a.m.
 Team,

Our team is working on WebSphere portal 7.5 and RTC 2.0.2 with RAD 7.5.0 having Development and Maintenance Streams. We have a requirement/Enhancement now to work on WebSphere portal 8.0 using RAD 9.0 which is compatible with RTC 4.0.3. We created a separate server for RTC 4.0.3 version and started working on it.

In future can we merge the code in the the 2 servers retaining the history, Since currently one team continues to work on RTC 2.x version and other team works on 4.x version.

Is it feasible and if yes what will be the procedure.

Thanks in Advance

Hi Teja,
CLM does not support a function of merging servers. But what you can do is to migrate your RTC 2.0.0.2 to 4.0.3 and then use the same jts as for your existing 4.0.3 server. You can even use the same WAS profile for your current and future 4.0.3 application but the database and application context must be different.

If you want only to merge source code, not work items, plans etc, you can use distributed source control feature: https://jazz.net/library/article/535/

Thank you, we just need to merge the code only.
