RQMExcelImporter Error: Invalid user / Pwd / URI

Rajesh Avanthi (10815145173) | asked Apr 10 '14, 1:48 p.m.
Basically, one of my client is working on Win7 64 bit machine and has MS Office 10 (64 bit installed). on this machine they are able to access the RQM URI via web browser and access project areas.

However when they invoke the Excel add-in and specify the same URI (even tried specifying IP address of RQM server m/c) they see an error : Invalid user or pwd or URI, though the same credentials are working fine via web.

We tried disabling the firewall, Antivirus and spyware as well with no much help..
Interstingly... the same set of credentials and URI is working fine on other Win7 64 bit machine.

Any inputs on what went wrong on this specific machine..

There are a couple of things you can check with:

1) Whether you installed 64 bit ExcelImporter for your 64 bit MS Office2010.
2) If you use 4.x RQM, whether you have latest version of ExcelImporter installed(compatible to any version of v4.x RQM).
3) Would add URI/IP mapping to the client's host file help?
4) Running nslookup against the server from the problem client and see if it provides more info or not
5) Click on Validate on the dialog when entering the credentials and URI and see if it provides more info
6) Check with C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Roaming\Mso2Rqm  and see if more details are provided on the error.
7) This problem could be quite hard to get to the root cause(you have checked antivirus, firewall, accessing to same URI in browser etc), please consider to contact support and see further troubleshooting can be done.

ExcelImporter itself does not have function to handle proxy authentication. It seems that your browser may have proxy enabled such as using proxy configuration script. Can you please have a check with your browser and disable proxy configuration script or any proxy used and make sure it still work(using the same browser to access to RQM server) and then try to use excelImporter again and see if it works or not? Thanks
