Email notifications are currently configured and for any change in assignee or work item status an email I sent to the assignee and reported by user. But I'm looking for an option to send email notification to a group of users / team.

Is there any way I can set up email notifications to be sent to teams instead of individuals?

no.. only workaround is to make a user an email list

There is an open enhancement to cover this, but unfortunately, planned for backlog:
