Can we map requirements to RQM test cases if IE 10 is installed?

Paul Spalitta (8143037) | asked Feb 04 '14, 2:48 p.m.
Hello,

We are having issues mapping requirements from DOORS 9.5.1 to test cases in RQM 4.0.3 using OSLC. We are initiating the link activity from DOORS and we were getting HTTP 404 errors after selecting the test case. HOWEVER, this only occurs on some computers. We figured-out that the link activity works on computers that have IE 9 installed but not on computers that have IE 10 or IE 11.

Is RQM 4.0.3 or DOORS 9.5.1 blocking the use of IE 10 or higher?

Thanks,

Paul

Hi Paul,

As per technote http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21642961, IE 10 is not supported with DOORS 9.5.1.
Although the technote talks about DOORS/RTC integration, same  will apply to RQM too.

Hi Vidya,

Is there a way around DOORS using IE? Can we have DOORS use the default browser or to specify which browser DOORS should use?

Thanks,

Paul

Hi Paul,

Unfortunately, Rational DOORS is hardcoded to use Internet Explorer DLLs to load content from OSLC providers. As a result,  you must have a supported IE version.

Hi Vidya,

I noticed that using DOORS Web Access gets around the requirement for having IE8 or IE9 installed.

Thanks,

Paul

 Hi Paul,

You may want to try this functionality using DOORS 9.5.2.1. There's a slight change in the way DOORS handles delegated UIs, which might just get it to work with IE 10 / 11 as well.

Thanks,
Sudarshan
