Hello,
An IBM employee stated that Derby is fine for a 10 RTC-pack, but when you add more licenses, you HAVE to go to a COTS DB. Is this true? Does 12 users require a COTS DB?

Accepted answer
You can not add more than 10 licenses when using Derby as your database. So yes, 12 users require a COTS DB.
Don't forget a license to use DB2 is included with the CLM servers. See: https://jazz.net/downloads/rational-team-concert/releases/4.0.5 Sterling Ferguson-II selected this answer as the correct answer

Hello,
Derby is supported only for evaluation purposes, not for production, and indeed, only for up to 10 users: http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/clmhelp/v4r0m5/index.jsp?re=1&topic=/com.ibm.jazz.install.doc/topics/c_deployment_topology_considerations.html&scope=null |
