Is DM 404 supported on AIX 7

Different IBM sources don't appear to show AIX support for DM 404, however, I know AIX was supported with the release of DM 403. Example of IBM sites searched to try and answer this question

Not Supported/Shown - http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27014274

Not Supported/Shown - DM Interactive Installation Guide

Partially Supported - http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/prodguid/v1r0/clarity-reports/report/html/osForProduct?deliverableId=1359150127989

Not Supported/Shown - http://www-03.ibm.com/software/products/en/designmanager/

Could someone from Jazz Team confirm AIX support for DM 404?

Hi Daniel,

I was told when 4.0.3 was delivery that you can install the Configuration Management application (VVC.WAR) and the Design Management application (DM.WAR) on an AIX operating system but you cannot install the Rational Software Architect domain extension server application (RSADM.WAR) on an AIX operating system.
It requires to be installed on a Windows/Linux operating system.
The extension server is used to displays RSA content such as diagrams, data from the Explorer view, import functionality, and properties. It is based on RSA components which are not supporting AIX.
I still believe this limitations applies to 4.0.4 and higher.

Francois

Hi Dustan,

Double-checking our internal records against, http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/prodguid/v1r0/clarity-reports/report/html/softwareReqsForProduct?deliverableId=1359150127989&osPlatform=AIX

I can see that IBM Rational Software Architect Extension for Design Management 4.0.4 is supported for AIX 7.1 64 bits.

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27036752 asks you to :

For Rational Software Architect Extension for Design Management 4.0.4 and 4.0.5, click the reports on the 4.0.3 tab.

Therefore, we would not have validated this against plain 7.0 and there could well be issues with that release.  As with any uncertified platform, this may result in unexpected issues.  Any issue reported to Rational Client Success (Support) would need to be reproduced on a certified release before an APAR could be produced.

I hope that this is the info you required.  If you have any further questions then do not hesitate to ask.
