How to quick search for a number that is not a work item ID?

Mike Shkolnik (9808161143) | asked Nov 21 '13, 7:37 p.m.
When using Quick Search for a number, it always brings up the work item with the ID entered. But what if it's not an ID? How do I tell Quick Search to search for it as text, not a work item ID?

Hi Mike,

I believe if you put it within quotations, you should see the expected results.

I tried this and got both: a work item with an ID equal to the number and another work item where the same number was in the summary attribute. Without the quotes, I only got the matching work item ID. I didn't see a way to exclude the matching ID from the result set.

That's good enough for me. I could swear I tried that already, but apparently not. Thanks much.
