RTC-Git Integration Credentials Use

Therese Dachille (111) | asked Sep 05 '17, 12:24 p.m.

 Hi,

What is the purpose of entering credentials in RTC while registering a GitLab repository? Are they used only to initially link the repository and then are not stored from there? Should these credentials be in the form of an admin token that accesses all repositories on a GitLab server and/or is it not secure for users to use their own credentials to register their own repository here?

Thanks.

The webhook based integration provided by IBM to access GitLab is, from my understanding, not making any requests from RTC to GitLab. Consequently, you do not need to provide any access information on RTC side, as RTC never aeccess the GitLab API.

The functional account that appears in the webhook however is used to process the webhooks from GitLab and will in some cases act as a functional user to initiate work item changes in RTC
