 Hi Jazz Team

Been looking for some way I can have a field in RTC automatically update based on a stored value in a local Excel file. Seems a simple task and helpful to have that functionality.

Local to who?  Server, eclipse, web?

You could write a jruby script

 Sam.

Thanks for your interest.

I would like to be able to load a field based on a value already calculated locally (local server) and exists in a particular cell in an Excel file.

You will have to write a participant in Java, install it on the server, and of course have read access to the file.

If I were admin of this system I would reject anything like this.

Thanks for the advice. Just looking for a cheap way of aligning two systems with little associated risk.

Nothing easy on this one, other than creating batch tools to do the updates from a client.

I also wouldn't be too keen on this.
In principle, it should be straightforward, unfortunately, it's in RTC, it's not as easy as it should be.
