Email Trobleshooting

Where would be the best place to do problem determination on email notification problems on the Jazz Team Server, after the email configuration setup has been verified? I brought up a Jazz Team Server on Windows 2003, validated the eMail config using the WebUI Setup and the server is not send emails on Work Items events. In this case, I have configured my user id to receive emails in the RTC user editor.

If you have used the /jazz/setup wizard to configure your e-mail
settings and have tested the connection with that wizard then it is
likely a problem with your mail server.

Is it possible to examine the STMP mail server logs to see if the
incoming requests are seen? Perhaps there is a failure to forward the
mail along.

Thanks. The smtp mail server is process mail requests from other services just fine, so the problem isn't with that server. Just for grins though I did switch the na.relay.ibm.com smtp server and my Jazz Team server still doesn't appear to be sending emails. This is a sandbox server on which I also have Rational ClearQuest web installed and that is processing emails as it should.
Is there someway on the Team Server to debug this?

I use that relay as well and get a lot of connection refused messages, but the emails still go-- I was getting so many errors in my system log i thought that I had configured it wrong.
Are you sure no emails are getting sent? your system log may have a more specific error
