Artifact in Releases for the ProjectArea

Ankur Sharma (151194) | asked Feb 18 '09, 7:16 a.m.
In ProjectArea when we define releases of project for which work items can be reported ('Found In' property of workitem), it shows four fields for a release - namely, 'Name', 'Creation Date', 'Visibility' & 'Artifact'.
I couldn't find out how to set this Artifact field for a release. What is this 'Artifact' field and how this is configured and used?

The Artifact field refers to a specific Build. In the 'Associated Release'
section of the 'Summary' tab of a build result, you can create a new
Release whose Artifact field points to the build.

Typically, you will start at a build result, and click the "Create a release
to associate with this build" link in the Associated Release section of the
result.

This will create the release and associate the build for you.
