question about ajax application scope

I was looking over the https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Main/HiJazzWebTutorial tutorial and there is brief section about application scope:

"The applicationScope element specifies how your page will be presented to the user in relation to other web UI extensions. The primary application scope is com.ibm.team.process.web.projectArea which means that the user will see your page in the context of a selected Jazz Project Area. (Note that there is another extension-point, net.jazz.ajax.applications, for defining new applicationScope types, but it's beyond the scope of this tutorial."

Does anyone know where I can find more information on the extension point and creating my own scope types? Or even what other predefined scope values are?
