 Hi, does Rational Asset manager have an API that could be used to act as a data source so that it could feed our Configuration Management tool ?

RAM provides extensive client API (Java, Ant) that includes API for accessing/querying/creating assets and artifacts, etc.. More information can be found in the online RAM info center

Some of the topics you should look at include the Using RAM Client Java API
Also RAM Custom Ant Library
