How to retrieve files and copy them to the local drive from RTC through VB.net windows application

Need to establish a connection to Rational Team Concert through VB.NET win application and copy the folders of a specific path into local drive.. for this I would like to know the process.. Please help me..

Actually I need the process to establish connection to RTC and work on folders through VB.net code, but not its configuration to solution explorer to check-in and check-out the files.
