Why do Custom attribute value disppear upon locking/unlocking test suite?

Using RQM 4.0.2:
A test suite comprises of custom attributes. Upon locking the Test Suite, the custom attribute value disappears.
Hit refresh and the custom attribute value is back.
Next, hit unlock. The custom attribute value disappears again. You need to hit the refresh button to make the value appear again.

Any idea what is leading to this behavior?

Seems to be similar to WorkItem --

Although the defect was filed for categories, the fix slated for 4.0.4 seems to have addressed same issue with custom attributes too.
