Issue Deleting Master lifecycle due to its relation with a newly created one
Hello,
We created a new Master Lifecycle (LC2) using an already existing Master Lifecycle (LC1) with the following steps: 1- Administration Page > Master Lifecycles 2- Click on "New Master Lifecycle" 3- Select the old lifecycle (LC1) from the list on the left 4- Rename to LC2 Then, later we tried to delete LC1 but, we got the following warning that indicates the dependency of LC2 on LC1. "The master lifecycle 'LC1' is currently in use by 4 community lifecycles. You must choose a new master lifecycle for these community lifecycles. You may only select from those master lifecycles that use the same workflow as the master lifecycle you are deleting." We would like to know why deleting an older workflow ,that a new workflow was created from, would cause any problem. Shouldn't they be independent? Is that working as designed? Thanks |
One answer
"New Master Lifecycle" only creates a new master, it doesn't touch any existing master lifecycles. There can be more than one master lifecycle. When you select the old lifecycle it made a copy of it and called it LC2. So LC1 is still totally active and still in use by four community lifecycles. There is no dependency between LC1 and LC2.
