From the interactive guide 4.0.2:

Did you configure a data warehouse in your previous installation?

Is the question asking if you have configured the local data warehouse, or RRDI?

thanks

Hi Sterling,

The question is asking if you've configured the actual data warehouse database.  If so, it needs to be upgraded to the new version, so the interactive upgrade guide will want to provide steps on how to do that.  So if you are using the data warehouse but do not have RRDI installed (ie - you have run the Java ETL's and are running BIRT reports or just want to preserve the data for future use), you'll still want to select "Yes" to that prompt to ensure it gets upgraded to the new schema.  Hope it helps,

 OK, thanks.

What does the last step in the upgrade mean? I can't find this address anywhere?

Procedure

  1. Open your browser and clear the browser cache.
  2. Navigate to the RM web client by specifying the server name and port in the following URL: https://hostname.example.com:port/rm/web/projects/migration. The default port is 9443. The web client detects that a migration is in progress and starts the Migration wizard.
  3. Accept the Rational Requirements Composer - Analyst Client Access license.
  4. Click Open the Upgrade Service Panel and then click Next to start the upgrade.

During the upgrade, on the migration page, the upgrade status reports which storage area is being processed and when it has started indexing. After the upgrade is complete, the RM application data is reindexed.

After the reindexing is complete, the application performs validation and consistency checks on the migrated data and provides feedback. The message "The Upgrade is complete" is displayed.

  5. Click Close. You will be redirected to the RM application.

  6. After the server starts, perform a Publish Service Initialize at https://hostname.example.com:9443/application context root/publish/initialize

You need to enter this url in your browser where hostname is your servername:port, application contest root is like "rm" and then /publish/initialize

Thanks,

Odd, only rm works, the others give an error. This is all on one machine, am I OK?
