Questions about Rational Automation Framework

Jeff Miller (16142) | asked Feb 25 '13, 9:30 a.m.
I have 2 questions on RAF (with or without Build Forge):

1) What scripting language(s) does it use?
2) Does it run in server-client mode, client stand alone mode, or both?

Thanks,

 Jeff,

RAF is a combination of technologies depending on the different automation middleware targets.

1.) RAF uses jython for working with WAS as well as some sh/bat scripts.
2.) It runs in a server-client mode, where there is a central RAF server that communicates to the clients (in an agentless fashion) on the individual middleware servers.

Unfortunately, RAF is not free: http://www-03.ibm.com/software/products/us/en/ratiautofram/

That is correct, RAF is not free but I believe the original question was referring to just having RAF use the embedded automation engine vs. combining it with a Build Forge implementation to have a build+middleware management solution.
