Server Backups!

Timo Wolf (61165) | asked Oct 27 '08, 7:52 a.m.
Hi All,

Are there best practices or a white paper for server backups?

We are using a DB2 database.

Is the database backup mechanism enough or should anything else be backed up?

Can we do a database backup without stopping the Jazz server or do you recommend stopping the server for that time?

Thanks a lot,

Timo

If you are using DB2 for your DB then I would recommend using the online
backup feature in DB2 to take backups without stopping the server. That
will backup all of your critical data. You can also backup your
teamserver.properties file to be thorough.

There is a draft technote, attached to a work item, that describes in detail
how this can be done:

Configuring IBM DB2 V9.5 for Online backups for RTC Server
