Report giving "no data available" when using IBM DB2 data source

Asim Ali (3366) | asked Nov 06 '12, 2:49 a.m.
Hi,

When we are running a report with IBM DB2 data source we are not getting the data on LINUX. It is just giving the message that "No Data Available".
Whereas in our dev machines we are using ODBC connection pointing to the same database we were using with IBM DB2 driver on Windows 7.

If somebody need more information we can provide. Its very urgent task we are working on.

Thanks,
Asim

the most common cause to this problem when data warehouse has data while report shows no data is: Framework Manager Model's security is turned on while logon user has no privileges to any project.
so questions for you:
is there any data in the data warehouse?(eg. run a SQL query: SELECT * FROM RIDW.VW_PROJECT to see whether it has data).
which data source Insight is connecting to?
If CLM products are used, did you configure Jazz Namespace?
and the FM model is using CLM model with security on or off?

This time we are not implementing any security. We are working as anonymous user. To be more clear on the issue plz see below detail about the environment.

We are facing some issue in deployment or configuration of Rational Insight report on one of the DST RI server on Linux and DB2 database which is on AIX.

Here are few points about the environment.
    Using RI 1.1.1 and DB2 9.7.
Building the custom datawarehouse from RTC instance using our application's REST services we built.
We have successfully executed the ETL builds and datawarehouse got populated.
When we tried connecting our RI report with this datawarehouse from our dev environment (windows) it is working fine.
When we deployed the report on our RI server on the DST side deployemnt is successful.
We have created the report data source on the congons configuration page and pointed our datawarehhouse. Tested the connection which is succeeded.
When we run the report it always say "No Data Available".
What difference we saw from DEV and DST is on DEV we are using ODBC data source whereas on DST IBM DB2 type data source.

Is there any restriction we need to take care in the report design when we use IBM DB2 type of data source or any other additional step required?

If further detail needed please contact.

Thanks.

As we raise a PMR for Rational Support team and finally came to the conclusion that we have to install ODBC driver on the Linux machine (RI). After making the data source as the ODBC type our reports are working fine.

Direct DB2 connection on the Linux machine having some issue while running the insight reports.

Thank you all for their time and inputs.
