Is it possible to hide views of work items to particular project areas, when we have a design of :

-          MASTER TEMPLATE project area (IDEAZZ_MASTER), process sharing with,

o   Child project area 1 (PA_TDP_CCB)

o   Child project area 2 (PA_TCM_CRM_AGILE)

o   Child project area 3 (PA_OLB_BILLING_AGILE)

o   Child project area 4 (PA_DEVOPS)

IDEAZZ_MASTER has the full list of work items :

-          IR

-          User Story

-          LUW

-          Epic

-          Retrofit

-          Defect

-          Hotfix

-          Task

-          Deliverable Task

-          ESR

-          Etc.

I’d like to see in PA_TDP_CCB, only certain work items in this view,

-          LUW

-          Task

-          IR

Whereas in PA_OLB_BILLING_AGILE, I’d like to see only,

-          User Story

-          Epic

-          Task

Is it possible to restrict these views, without configuring the permissions of users? I’ve seen options to do this via configuring project/team area permissions, but I’d prefer if I didn’t (to avoid creating too many unnecessarily roles)

I have trouble to read the question properly. Please edit it and remove the HTML tags that cause the issues. in general, you will see all work item types that are available in the project area. If you don't use certain work item types, you can remove them from your process.
