Lifecycle Query: Is trending information or metrics needed in lifecycle queries?

Examining the top 10 themes discovered in the Jazz Plan Jam results are in!  and I am looking for help/input in understanding theme #9 Cross lifecycle query* 217062 better.

Is retrospective analysis based on actual historical lifecycle data and metrics useful in continuous process improvement and project success rates, for example

  • What was the impact of this requirement change
  • What was the effort of the change
  • Where are the hold-ups in the lifecycle

And please help us understand better whether the lifecycles queries should be real-time/live queries or are they better suited to data warehouse reporting?
