Question about Proces Sharing
We have a setup where we create all new project areas with the Uncofigured Process Template and use the process sharing feature to inherit everything from a master project area. This has been working great for us to date.
Question - What are the impacts of changing/customizing settings in the child project areas process configuration? These changes are not currently made very often in order to keep usage as standard as possible but we can foresee a scenarios where we may be required to make changes to get the job done.
By making changes to child process configurations do we break the inheritance link? What sort of issues should we watch out for when making changes to child project areas?
We are on RTC version 3.0.1.3
Thanks

Hi Matt, please read https://jazz.net/library/article/1005
The summary is, if you overwrite the child configuration today, the current configuration is copied into the process that shares. You basically loose sharing for the overwritten section. E.g. changes to work items are no longer shared. Development is looking into make it more fine grained. There are several work items for it. You can look them up and support it.
