Joining multiple queries in RRDI

Naveen Chandani (4812022) | asked Jun 14 '12, 3:28 a.m.

Scenario: I am using Rational Team concert for Fund Management. This fund has to be used for predefined tasks. I have created 3 different workitem type:

  1. Fund Allocation
  2. Fund Release
  3. Fund Utilization

For each task, there is fixed amount of sum allocated. The allocated sum will be released in multiple instalments. Utilization will also be acknowledged in multiple instalments.

Reporting Requirement: I am looking for a report, which could give me the information about Allocated Fund, Fund Released & Fund utilized for each task in a single snapshot.

Challenge: I tried extracting the report using RRDI. I wrote three different queries as below:

  • Query 1: Task & Fund Allocation
  • Query 2: Task & Fund Released
  • Query 3: Task & Fund utilized

Since task is a common element in all the three report, I joined the 3 queries using the Task as the common key. I was able to get Fund Allocated, Utilized, Released in a snapshot. However it is showing me only those tasks for which all the three wokitems are present. However there are certain tasks for which Fund Utilization has not happened so far. Those tasks are not listed in this report. Similarly there are certain tasks for which fund has not been released. Those tasks are also not listed in the report. In my report, I would like to see “0” for Fund Released if the funds have not been released for that task, vice versa for fund utilized.
