Hi all,
We'd like to know if there is an upgrade path from RTC 4.0 RC3 to RTC 4.0 GA?
We'll we be able to export or reuse the same repo as the one we've started to use in RC3 in production in a few weeks?
Please advise!

Hi,

in the 4.0 RC3 release notes there is a quote which answers your question: "Upgrading directly to any other build, including another milestone build later than 4.0 RC4, is not supported."
So while it might work, we do not support it. On that note, using pre-release builds for productive environments is unsupported.

You could upgrade the latest Release Candidate to the GA version, so 4.0 RC6 to 4.0 when it is released.

Yes, but the only officially supported upgrade path is through each of the RC releases, i.e. RC3 to RC4 to RC5 to RC6 to RC7 to GA.

In general, you can upgrade:
- from a milestone release to the next milestone release
- from a beta release to the next beta release
- from a GA release to the next GA release
Note that for the purposes of these rules, a beta release is also a milestone release, and a GA release is also a beta and milestone release.

Cheers,
Geoff
