<ref> How to stop an import from ClearCase
I am able to unlock the stream , but the "select files to sync" option is greyed out.
So when the first time the sysc failed I had to delete the sync stream. In this workspace I have data imported from ClearCase.I created another stream for importing from CC, but had to use a different workspace(RTC did not let me use the old one). So now I want to bring over the data from the first workspace to this new one so that all the CC info is in one workspace.
Thanks

First, note that you should never have to delete a sync stream to recover from a blocked sync ... just fix whatever is blocking the sync operation, and request another sync on the original sync stream. In particular, after that sync succeeds, the "select files to sync" option should again become available.
When you created a second sync stream, the first sync on the second sync stream would have brought over another copy of the content from ClearCase (in a new change set). So there is no reason to try to keep the information from the first sync stream ... it's just another copy of the same information. So delete the first sync stream.
Note that this assumes you have not made any changes in the first sync stream that you want to preserve ... if you have made some changes in RTC to the sync stream, you can create create patches from those change sets, and apply them to the second sync stream.
Cheeers,
Geoff

Thanks for getting back. Things happen!
Let me try to explain where I am stuck at right now.Since trying to import from CC kept failing on me, I started doing it in batches. And now I have the CC data sitting on two different repository workspaces. These repo workspaces have the same component name but diffrent contents when I do "show repo files".Now I want to add the contents from repo wksp1 to repo wkspc 2? How do I do that?
Thanks

Adding the contents from repo wspc1 to repo wkspc 2 isn't something you want to do. The synchronizer maintains metadata about what contents from ClearCase has been successfully sync'ed over in a given sync stream, and there's no way to "fool" it into thinking additional material has been successfully brought over (it doesn't trust you to get that right :-).
In particular, if you tried to accept the contents of wkspc1 to wkspc2, and delivered the result to sync stream 2, it would interpret this as you having made some changes in RTC that need to be synchronized back to ClearCase, which isn't at all what you want.
So you're just going to have to give up on "re-using" in sync stream 2 any of the change sets that created by sync stream 1.
Note: In RTC-4.0, we believe all of the "out of memory" problems in large sync requests have been fixed, but until you can upgrade, it's probably best to request smaller trees when you initially add sync roots (say, 5000 files in each request).
Cheers,
Geoff

"fix whatever is blocking the sync operation, and request another sync on the original sync stream. In particular, after that sync succeeds, the "select files to sync" option should again become available."
It happened again. The import from ClearCase failed and now the Synchrinized Stream is showing "Import Active" status, whereas the build/sync have failed.Teh build engine is idle.I unlocked the stream. Refreshed, but still I can not set the status of the stream to "fail", and I do not have the option "select files to synchonize" active.
I'm so ready to give up!

Have you worked with Rational Support, or filed a work item on jazz.net? If you are having an issue, the development team would like to know about it, and help you get past it. You don't have to figure this out on your own!
