Eclipse client (win) not compatible with 4.04C0a release ??
I downloaded the latest RTC install from
https://jazz.net/downloads/rational-team-concert/milestones/4.0RC0a?p=allDownloads and happily installed this on a SUSE11 server - works fine with the web client. The version installed reports as (Jazz Foundation - Core Libraries 4.0 RC0a RJF-I20120316-1357) When I tried the Windows x86 Eclipse Client from the same download page I get a message "Your client is not compatible with the server" and in the error message window the client is reported as 4.0RC0. In the 'Help' - 'About' pull down in the Eclipse Client the version of the client is reported as Version: 4.0 Build id: RTC-I20120316-1803. So it looks like the version of the client is too low for the server.... but surely they should match as they come from the same download page. Am I missing something - and is this the right forum to ask in ? (I'm new to the Rational Toolset). Many thanks Dave Sinclair |

I've used the 4.0RC0 download, and did not run into that problem.
One thing to consider ... one sometimes gets misleading error messages when one uses the wrong URL when creating a repository connection from the Eclipse client. In particular, if you used all the defaults when running "setup" to initialize your jazz team server, then you'll want to use the URL with the segment "ccm", and not with the segment "jazz". Cheers, Geoff I downloaded the latest RTC install from |
|Thanks... changing the URL as suggested fixed the problem....
