Hotfix 1 installation has caused lost namespace
Hi,
I have installed Hotfix 1 into an fresh Insight 1.1 instance (Windows/DB2 platform) and am now encountering the following error whenever I try to log in; AAA-SYS-0002 The following suspect line is located within the cogserver log file; 1002 Successfully registered the dispatcher http://win-ckk56s37j9h:10080/reporting in Content Manager. I followed the installation instructions detailed at http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21572859 . Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks, Mark |

Mark,
Did you shut down the report server before applying the hotfix? Are there errors logged in the <insight>/cognos/instlog/* files? Regards, Kelvin |
Mark, Here's the last few lines of a log file modified today after trying the hf1 install. (I'm not the OP, btw, I'm just getting the same error ( The Installation Wizard is complete. The IBM Cognos Installation Wizard End Time: Mon 07 May 2012 07:16:40 AM MST All selected components were transferred successfully. |
Did you ever get a resolution to this issue? I've just run into it myself.

Insight's reporting application (p2pd.ear) has not been refreshed.
You will need to re-build and redeploy it following the instructions in the section: "Rebuild and redeploy the Rational Insight 1.1 Report Server Web application" of this technote Regards, Ali |
I did follow that process when I applied the update.

Hi Daniel - its rare, but sometime when you uninstall and re-install an ear it the older version remains cached.
Could you try running through the instructions in the section: "Rebuild and redeploy the Rational Insight 1.1 Report Server Web application" again, but this time in Step #9 instead of Uninstall, try Update. Regards, Ali |
It is better to follow the updated instructions documented at http://www-304.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21572859&myns=swgrat&mynp=OCSSRL5J&mync=R. Stick to using Uninstall. The following step is key to making sure any previously cached files associated with the IBM Cognos web application are deleted: Step 12: Go to the file system and delete the directory, After you redeployed the Web application, make sure you restart WAS. |
I got the same problem but I observed that there was p2pd.war file was create/updated so I have reinstalled p2pd.war file instead of p2pd.ear file. My problem got fixed by this :)
Thanks, Om. |
