Does Asset Producer role override Asset Owner role?

In one community, roles are configured as follows:
1. Asset Producer: has Create, Download, Search assets permissions but, does NOT have neither Update nor Delete assets permissions.

2. Asset Owner: has Update assets and Delete assets permissions but NOT Create permission.

One user is assigned to a user group given Asset Producer role. User created an asset in Draft status but, he can NOT edit or delete the asset anymore. Since user is the asset creator, he should be assigned Asset Owner role but, apparently he is not.

- Is this working as designed or is it a bug?

- Can Asset Producer role over ride default role of Asset Owner?

Thanks!

Verify that he is actually still the asset owner and not that for some reason he doesn't doesn't have it anymore.

The algorithm is not one role overrides another. The algorithm is all roles the user has in a community are merged together. If one role says he has update authority in all cases while the other says no he doesn't then he will still have update authority in all cases because the merge says all cases.

So if he is an asset owner then the asset owner role is merged in with the others that he explicitly has.

Yes, he still has the Owner role. But, the permissions are not merged. He has the limited "Producer" permissions.

Then there is something strange going on. I don't know what.

Can you list for that user, what roles they have (and permissions for it), as well as what kind of life cycle the asset have, and if (on the current state) there is any overrides
