RAM Changes due to change in IP/Hostname
Hi Folks,
We have Rational Asset Manager installed on AIX 5.3 Websphere 6.1.0.27. We need to change the IP and Host name of the the machine.
Can you please let me know what changes are needed -
--- Rational asset manager config and setup
--- Websphere
--- Any other change/suggestion.
Any documentation on this subject will be very helpful too.
Thanks,
Ved.

Hello,
There is no documentation on this. We haven't tested it.
First, I'm assuming you are at RAM 7.1.1.1 or greater. Previous versions
of RAM were not suitable to have host renames.
In RAM on the configuration page you will need to change all of the
paths that are shown to the new host name. I don't think there are other
changes within RAM that would be needed. Except if you had other
applications on the same server that were connected to RAM. We do have
"connections" in other places that point to non-RAM applications/URL's.
Those would need to be handled on a case by case basis. Such as to
Clearcase or WSRR.
Websphere is a different question. I don't know about that.
