How user search for assets in RAM

Jim Mann (111) | asked Feb 08 '12, 9:38 a.m.
I'm trying to get a better understanding of how users search for assets in RAM (or for IBMers, in our internal instance, iRAM). Any feedback would be appreciated.

Do users usually:

-- just use the search bar to perform a full text search?
-- use the Filter your search area on the left (alone, or in conjunction with the text search)?
-- use tags?

For example, if you were looking for an asset related to WebSphere Application Server, would you simply search for that term, or would you filter based on category schemas, or use some other method?

Thanks.

You can look at reports for specific assets to see how users are searching for them. Navigate to an asset and then click

For RAM 7.5.0.2 and earlier
Statistics -> Asset Search History

For RAM 7.5.1
Reports -> Asset Search History

You'll be able to see which keywords and filters users are using when they find the asset in search results.
