Export RAM contents in some "standard" format

Janette Wong (711311) | asked Dec 22 '11, 1:11 p.m.
Hi,

Can RAM export its contents in some standard format so that they can be imported into another repository (potentially not RAM)? In the InfoCenter, I found RAM can export its contents in a zip file to be imported to another RAM server. But how about to another yet unknown (potentially a different vendor's) repository?

Thanks

Assets by themselves are stored using the Reusable Asset Specification format (RAS spec from OMG). ... it is a zip and a manifest reflecting the information around he asset.

You can export a library from RAM ... which was allow you to export informational model kind of things (types, attributes, relationships .... and some sample assets). This library is also stored as a zip, which contains information as well as RAS assets). The format for this library is RAM proprietary... but it is EMF based and could be transformed as part of some ETL effort.
