Load Bar x Work Assignment (Default Allocation)

Hi,
i'm using RTC 3.0.1 and made some tests along users allocation at a team/timeline and the efects of this at load bars.
The structure is:
Process Template
Scrum
Work Assignment
Development Team (Project X)
main timeline => 100% start date: 10/12/2011 end date: 19/12/2011
Work Environment
monday to friday, 8hr per day, 5pm quitting time.
Iteration at Project X
starts at 9/12/2011 8am and ends at 20/12/2011 5pm.
Work Items
I have a single Task, estimated in 8hr, no work done yet, and the current day is 19/12/2011 6pm, so according to rtc (by my quitting time) this day is gone.
Thus RTC shows me at load bar that i have 8hr of work allocated and 8hr available to do it because my iteration ends at 20/12. So the iteration dates has priority under allocation dates (by my tests of course).
My question is: if a say that my allocation ends at 19/12, the right value at load bar shouldn't be 8h/0 (overbooked by 8h)?
I try to set another allocation at other team starting at 20/12 (presuming that rtc was allocating my hours auttomatically because i don't have no allocations later - like default allocation works) but it takes no effects...
Later i found this article
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/clmhelp/v3r0m1/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.team.apt.tour.tutorial.doc%2Ftopics%2Frtciterationplanwrapper.html
and read: "This feature is available only if you are using the Formal Project Management process template."
But i see that changes at work assignment make difference at progress bars for example, no mather wich process i use. I don know if load bars has the same behavio..
tks!

Could it be that the Load Bar you are looking at is the overall Plan Load Bar - which takes into account all users working on that plan (including e.g. administrator) - and that you have a 2nd user (e.g. administrator) having work allocation defined for this Plan Timeline ?
Then check for 1st user what *his* Load Bar shows on 19/12 - by adding a Load Bar to a Plan view that you grouped by Owner.

Hi cristophe,
first of all nice article, very usefull!
in my case i have a iteration plan and items are grouped by owner (work breakdown) and i check the user load bar. Because i have only one task and only one user, the user load bar is equal the overall plan load bar, so the error persists.
I'm starting to think that iteration dates are overriding my allocation dates.
Any suggestions?
tks!
