What is the 'Deleted Item Cleanup Lifespan' setting

The RTC advanced properties page contains a setting called:
Deleted Item Cleanup Lifespan
and the default value is set to 7776000. If this value is in seconds, it's equivalent to 90 days.
Can somebody tell me how this setting is used please. Does it cause something to happen after 90 days and if so, what?

Are all the Advanced Properties documented somewhere?

That property is used to decide when to completely delete items that have been marked for deletion. When an item is deleted a record is kept in the DB that tracks that the item has been deleted. After 90 days, even the record of deletion is removed. If the property value is increased, then the length of time that the deletion marker will live will increase.
