I would like to link 2 project areas on 2 servers.

What are the link type used for?
Will I be able to Copy/Move Workitem between the 2 project areas?
Will I be able to continue to track the Workitem from my Iteration plan after it has been moved to another project area?

The project links that you see in the project area editor are for connecting separate products such as RTC and RQM in a C/ALM scenario. The links are not related to the questions you asked.

Establishing links for the project area enables linking between artifacts in this project area and artifacts in another project area. For example, linking a defect in RTC to a test case in RQM.

For more information on C/ALM and these links, you can visit:

I'm attempting cross-server communication between two RTC (JFS, 1.0, Build I20090618-1753 and RTC 2.0, Build I20090618-1753) and project linking. I'm successful generating/approving OAuth Consumer keys and establishing the server friends lists for each server.

However, when I attempt to establish Project links from either server I receive the following error:

=====================================================
Problem Fetching Remote Data:

Unable to load URL: /jazz/proxy?uri=https%3A%2F%2Fqsrv101.lexma.ibm.com%2Fjazz%2Frootservices, Status: 500
=====================================================

I have not been able to find any clues to why this is happening. Has anyone seen this before?

It would appear that you have a "name mismatch".
Are you logging into the server with an IP address or something else
different from https://qsrv101.lexma.ibm.com/jazz ?

When you log into your server what is the URL of the server?

If you go to https://qsrv101.lexma.ibm.com/jazz/rootservices is the
rootservices document served up?

Not directly related to the error you encounter, but please note that RTC
to RTC project linking will only be supported in 2.0.0.2:
