Strange error started in my local station

I started having this problem with my installation. Didn't change anything I know of, just started appearing one day. Uninstalled and re-installed everything and it worked for a few restarts of RSA 8.0.4 then started doing it again.

The RTC Client is 3.0 ifix1.

Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot would be appreciated.

Downgrading to 8.0.3 has eliminated the problem. I hope that the jazz team will accept this problem as an actual defect and work on a resolution.

Based on the answers below it appears that the problem is with RSA "Deployment Planning" not Jazz per se.


If this is a blocker for adopting more recent versions of RSA then you should raise the issue with RSA support.

I had the same problem just now. To get rid of it, I went into IBM Installation Manager -> Modify -> chose RSA -> .. -> (on the features page) Removed "Deployment planning".

I do not have the solution to it, but I will confirm that there seems to be
a problem because I get the same - and all started with RSA 8.0.4

The difference to yours is that I use Win7 and RTC 2.002, iFix 7
Is there any setting/library etc. which can be deinstalled/reconfigured to get rid of this problem?

Thank you for responding to this. When I was upgrading to 8.0.4 I saw some error about a package having strange dependencies. Since I don't need 8.0.4 right now, I'll try backing down to 8.0.3 and see if that corrects it.

I hope there is some way to remove the Systemz stuff, we don't use it, our RTC Server is a RHEL Linux box.

It's unclear whether it is an RTC plugin problem, or an RSA plugin
problem. You might want to submit the trouble report to both products
(and just to make sure there is no misunderstanding, you do need to
submit an actual trouble report, either via Rational Support, or in the
case of RTC, via a work item on jazz.net ... posting a message to the
forum does not provide sufficient information to work on the problem).

I am having the exact same problem. RSA 8.0.4, with RTC plugin 3.0.1.1, and Windows 7 64bit.
