Capture screenshot not working

June Dixon (364) | asked Dec 06 '11, 4:50 p.m.
Capture Screenshot when attaching to a work item results in an initial error message saying
The screen capture tool is a separate Java Application that requires Java Web Start to run. After closing this dialog your browser will download a file named rtc_screencapture.jnlp. Please ensure your browser is configured to open .jnlp with Java Web Start. If you have a download manager installed you may need to turn it off. If Java Web Start is not installed or the screen capture tool does not start please refer to this online article
(this network is not attached to the internet so this wont work)
Select Ok. A sort of screenshot tool is displayed. Press the screen capture icon and attach to a work item.
Receive error message Error while attaching screen capture Reason: Bad Request (400)

Should testers be raising defects via RQM or RTC? Makes sense during test execution in RQM to raise defects on the fly in RQM BUT when you raise a defect within RQM do not get the Capture Screenshot function nor the Attachment function need to reopen and reedit the defect in RTC. Is that how it works?

Is it possible to execute a test manually, add in results for each step as you run it then stop the test and go out the tool completely then go back into the tool and into the test and continue where you left off.
When I complete a few stops then select Stop. I have to leave the test then when a go back in none of my results have been saved.

Is it possible to unlink a defect from a step (you may have linked the wrong defect) OR can you delete a defect from a test step or move it to another (you may have made a mistake when recording the results), Its possible to edit the results so should be able to modify defects (remove/relink)

Reports
Close and show results shows a fab graph of Results overview and Results details (graph of passed, failed, blocked, inconclusive and error) and a list of Step, Type, Result, Description and Expected Result and Actual Result. Can also add comment to results BUT when its printed via PDF - the report is not as expected. No graph Test steps printed out fully (see print out) . Why?

I see, the thread is from Dec. 2011, but it's the only one thread, I found!

I am using RTC 4.0.1 and in the Webclient I have the same problem. The screenshot tool is displayed, but then an error occured: "Bad request".

I am test this with Internet Explorer 8 on 32-bit Java Runtime or with Firefox 17.0.1 on 32-bit Java Runtime Environment.

Is there any solution?

Manfred
