Can I set the file back to a previous version?

Hi

Let's say I want to discard all new changes and set this file back to a previous or even early version. How can I do this?

I assume discard change set is no an option because usually we change many files in one change set.

In ClearCase, we can open the version tree and retrieve any older versions, but in RTC there is no version tree to open.

Thanks
Jirong

You can undo a change from an active change set. Once it has been completed, you cannot undo any changes. If you want to load the version from a previous change set, you can do that from the file's history.

Right click on the file in the change set, and select "show history" (or
if the file is in an editor, right click on the editor and select "Team
-> Show_History). That will open the History view on the file, form
which you can select the version you want.

Thanks, guys.

This way we can select a previous version and open the file. This is same as in ClearCase.

Is there a way to replace the current version with a previous version? Users have been asking for this in CC too.

Thanks

If the change set that created the current version contains only that
version, then you can replace the current version with the previous
version by discarding that change set. But if that change-set modifies
multiple versions, you cannot roll back just that file. Work item 59688
requests the ability to "split" a change set, so you can move this
change into it's own separate change set (and then you could roll back
the change to just that file). Please feel free to add a comment to
that work item indicating your interest support.

Geoff
