RTC 3.0.1.1 - Websphere - LDAP

We are currently running RTC/RQM/RRC 2.X versions on 3 separate instances of Tomcat.

We are planning to migrate to Websphere when we migrate to RTC 3.0.1.1.

My question is ..

1) Is only LDAP supported as authentication mechanism if we WAS ?

If so, which Open source LDAPs does IBM support.

2) How do I export my users in tomcat-users.xml to Websphere/LDAP ? (I went through the interactive upgrade guide, but I didnt find any specific instructions to to this.)

Any info. will be helpful.

Hi Kiran,

with WAS there is also a local realm supported. But with all the servers you might have to configure I'd rather switch to LDAP.

The supported environments can be found at the getting started page of the download pages https://jazz.net/downloads/rational-team-concert/releases/3.0.1.1?p=gettingStarted using the system requirements link and looking at "Identity Management". There is no open source tool listed. However, I have heard of other systems that have been successfully used with RTC.

While creating the Upgrade Workshop we used Apache Directory Service http://directory.apache.org/ . It is not supported, but worked for us. You can find more details in the workshop in the https://jazz.net/library/ .

You can export your users to a CSV file using the repotools. To enter them you have to do that using an LDAP maintenance tool in LDAP like the one mentioned in the upgrade workshop. I am not sure there are ways to import CSV files. That probably depends on the tool you use to maintain LDAP. You might have to use that information to manually enter the users.
