Gant inside Plans in RTC

Hi, I have created a plan and it has the Gant functionality.
How can I configure the end and start dates of the gant? I would like them to map a custom attribute I have created in the work items (Planned end and start date)

?

Hi,

there are start and end date fields provided with the Gantt functionality already. I am not sure if you can configure alternative attributes. If at all possible it would be in the Process Configuration>Project configuration>Configuration Data>Planning most likely the Plan Attributes section, maybe Attribute mapping.

The planned dates are set by creating a plan snapshot of type planned.

See https://jazz.net/library/article/663 , https://jazz.net/library/article/657 and other articles about planning.

Hi Ralf :

According to the articles (at least is what I understand :) ), I can put the initial "planned date" , and then the duration will be calculated with the "estimated hours" right? For example :

Assuming 8 working hours a day
Constraint :Start not before
Constraint date : 4 October
Estimated Hours : 16 Hours
Due Date : 10 October
In the Gant it should look like starting the October 4th and go along 2 days (finishing at the 6th)

Can I put something that in the Gant show me the bars from October 4th to October 10th?

Cesar, I don't understand your question. In general the traditional sheduler should schedule the work based on constraints, priority and availability of resources, similar to what you describe above and show those bars in the plan.

So you should see the bars with the calculation, provided all the other numbers fit, the plan is setup right (has the correct attributes displayed which switch on the Gant view). There are some dependencies in the work item type too. The plan shows top level work item types different than execution level work items.

The planned start date etc. are set by creating a snapshot of the right type (e.g. planned) as discussed in the articles. This is only available in the Web view.
