I don't know if any of you have used the Jazz Web application in the Notes
8 embedded browser (using IE 7 under the cover). Well, I did and it doesn't work - the loading of the page never completes unfortunately. Here is what it looks like: I know the Jazz Web application works fine with a stand-alone IE 7 and this must be coming from Hannover, but I can't find the origin of the problem - I couldn't find anyone on the Lotus side who had the problem before with any other application). I'm not opening a Defect for it as it's not said this should work but I still think it should be fixed as many of our users - project managers for example - will spend quite a lot of time in Notes and won't understand why they can't use it for Jazz. Thank you for help. For what it is worth, I observed the same bahvior with Firefox 1. It went
away when I switched to Firefox 2. - Harold --------------- <rigolet.j@fr.ibm.com> wrote in message news:eolcop$1d5$1@localhost.localdomain... Jean-Yves,
We have never tried running the Jazz web UI from within Notes 8 and I haven't seen anything similar in the Notes 7 embedded browser (which isn't supported, but works) or any of our supported browsers (Firefox 1.5/2, IE 6/7). I have created defect 15529 to track this. To help debug this problem it would be great if you could: - confirm the exact version of IE that is being used - look for error logs, messages, etc I will look for opportunities to upgrade to Notes 8 and will explore further if I'm able to do so. |
Hello William,
Thank you for your response. I tried to find any sort log reporting the problem but failed. Just to let you know the IE 7 version I'm currently using is 7.0.5730.11. I also reported the problem to the Hannover dev team in case they can tell me any limitation in the embedded browser they're aware of. and as soon as I get an answer, I'll post it (here and in the Work Item). I've been told Notes 8 M3 may have still little problems, so I should try
using Lotus Expeditor Client (client base of Notes 8) instead. So I tried, and the Jazz Web application works pretty well there as you can show on the attached image. I will let the Notes dev team know it's fine & we'll just have to wait untill the M4 then. Sorry for that and thank you for your time William. Jean-Yves,
Works fine for me under Notes 8.0.1 but I am running Fedora 8 Linux so it is Embedded Firefox under the Hood. rigolet.j@fr.ibm.com wrote:
