UML diagramm for RTC
![]()
Hi!
I'm wondering if there is some UML or similar diagram for RTC or at least its version control parts. For example, something similar to the diagrams in http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rational/library/jazz-source-control-management/index.html, which aren't really sufficient. Uli |

No, just the general info. It was my experience during training that the actual meaning and relation of different object types was unclear, and a UML diagram would have illustrated things. Simple example: What is the relation between a changeset and a work item? If you know that there is a bidirectional relation and that each can reference 0...n of the other, you would immediately understand that there is no ownership involved in any direction. Instead, both changesets and work items only reference each other, but deleting either doesn't delete the other. Cheers! Uli |

Such a model is requested in work item 169005.
Please feel free to add a comment indicating your interest/support. Cheers, Geoff On 9/21/2011 3:53 AM, ulricheckhardt wrote: Hi! |

I agree that your example illustrates why such a formal diagram is of
great value. And for your specific example, yes, both directions of that relation are 0..n, and there is no ownership involved in either direction. Until that comprehensive diagram has been produced, please feel free to post specific questions to the forum, and you should get reasonably rapid responses. Thank you Geoffrey, that answers my question. And of course, this forum of active users and developers is a treasure.
