Hiding archived items in Work Allocations using Web UI

I've got a customer who wants to hide archived items that are displayed in the Work Allocations when using in the Web UI. She only wants to see those projects and timelines that are active, not those that are archived. Does anyone know how to hide archived items?

I too need this feature. Why is this not implemented even in the 4.0 release?
