Online RRC Migration fails

My case is that I migrated JTS 3.0 to JTS 3.0.1 and CCM 3.0 to CCM 3.0.1. Now have to migrate RRC 2.0 to RM 3.0.1

After the CCM and JTS migration scripts are executed I had to run "jts/setup" wizard to complete all the registration and configuration. I haven't registered RM during this process cause I am going to migrate RM data after.

So I exported the data from RRC 2.0 and created the upgrade script which run very well. There were no errors during this event. But when I log-on to the rdm/web/projects/migration page as an ADMIN I encountered an error. It was saying
2011-08-03 15:36:23,154 ERROR eam.repository.service.internal.ContributorService - Error occured retrieving and saving contributor: rm_user
com.ibm.team.repository.common.MigrationInProgressException: CRJAZ1966E Write operations cannot be performed on item type "ContributorRecord" at this time. An application migration is currently in progress.

I tried to create this user by myself but it was saying that this user is already in the DB and cannot create. I also looked to the projects which were imported. Every project was there with its users etc.. But e I log in to RM there are no project assigned to my user, projects are like invisible to the user :)

has any one encountered this kind of error?

Hi,

I haven't seen the issue you describe here. Have you looked into the upgrade workshop here: https://jazz.net/library/article/662 and compared it to what you did?

The error message implies that the migration process seems to be currently running and JTS ins in read-only mode. The user should have been created during the registration process, I believe.

The only difference of my enviroment from the workshop is websphere application server. I am using Tomcat instead of WebSphere.

I followed exactly the same steps which can be applied to my local enviroment. But there's still this issue. I also think that the migration is still in progress when I got this message. But I have only 4 simple project. Total size is 45mb :) I don't think I have to wait for one hour. Am I right?

Hi, the migration wizard will indicate when the migration is done. If it didn't it has not finished. I have no migration times at hand, but one reason why RRC does the migration the way it does (allow to have JTS up in Read-Only mode) is that the migration can take a lot of time and having JTS in Read-Only mode allows the users of other applications to work.

Be patient.

Is there some kind a link where we can trace the progress? In RRC 2.x we had https://server:port/jazz/indexing to see the progress.

And also after running the RM_UPGRADE Script,if I can login to the jts/setup there some steps which are not confiured(only RRC). Does those configurations are done during the migration step?

The following URL should work for tracking progress:
https://hostname:port/rm/indexing

The link that you suggest is not working. But the migration problem is solved with RRC 3.0.1.1 version.

Now we can watch the indexing and migration process in the migration panel.
