Jazz Team Server LDAP configuration Challenges

Donald Weber (1111) | asked Jul 28 '11, 2:53 p.m.
I am installing RQM v3.0.1 with CCM and JTS at a client site and wanted to point out some interesting information from the documentation and issues that I encountered with that configuration.

The client was using MS Active directory for the LDAP server and the basic installation instructions from Interactive Installation were not clear on what needed to be defined. I learned from another article <URL> much of how to configure the LDAP settings in WAS.

There were 2 clear areas of confusion:
1) the Advanced LDAP parameters were not what I saw in the Interactive Installation Guide, but the article I mentioned did help a lot in determining the correct settings to use.

2) The Interactive Installation Guide mentioned that the Jazz Administrative user should be the "Primary Administrative User" but didn't indicate that the user must have Domain Admin permissions. The user permissions did not allow the userid provided to see the memberOf attributes until the user was given Domain Admin permissions.

This was not clear.

This must be another issue. The Jazz Admin user must NOT have Domain Admin rights. It works with a normal Users.
