Customize User Editor Properties
I need to add additional attributes on My User Editor record in RTC.
Is it possible to customize User record inside Jazz Platform? I need to add department and phone number attributes for each specific user. Thanks a lot. Wagner Arnaut |

FORUM ADMINISTRATOR / FORUM MODERATOR / JAZZ DEVELOPER I need to add additional attributes on My User Editor record in RTC. Hi Wagner, I am unfortunately not aware of a way to customize the user records. The information you mention should be maintained in the LDAP or another directory service. Even then, today there is no way to import this information into the user profile. There is a work item for this: https://jazz.net/jazz/web/projects/Jazz%20Foundation#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.viewWorkItem&id=159453 and you might want to provide information about your use case. I'm also interested to pull in additional LDAP attributes such as unique employee ID and Department/Location. We use the location information on CQ today to know and assign mastership. For RTC, as we collaborate with other tools, it would be great to have a true unique ID such as employee ID to track an individual since email and userid can change when a person changes last name.
Is there any way we can insert the entry ourselves into user table and customize the user record display to show the "Custom" or additional attributes? Does RTC have such request on their roadmap for future releases? I posted the same comment on the work item. Not sure which one gets more visibility. |

My understanding is the same as Ralph's, that this is not supported, and
I am not aware of it being in-plan for the next release. If you post a work item, it is guaranteed that the appropriate development team will look at it. It is very likely they will also see a forum post on the topic, but that is not guaranteed. To get something into the plan for a release, you would need to convince the dev team that it is higher priority than the other potential work for that release. One way to do so is to generate widespread support in the customer community (posting to the forum can be an effective way to get that support started). As an alternative to getting community support, you can just buy a lot of licenses, in which case your sales rep can help get it prioritized even without support from the general customer community.
